Tanya Lewis...
Green Glider Inventor
Thank you for visiting the Green Glider website! My name is Tanya Lewis, inventor of Green Glider. During my childhood money was always tight. We re-used everything and nothing went to waste. Back then society was not taught to feel euphoric about throwing something away immediately after just one use. Now, as a mother, I’ve retained the values from my childhood years by reusing...and reducing unnecessary waste in our home by being creative and smart.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention!
Back when my baby was at the age where he was learning how to crawl, any dirt on the floor would cling to his little hands, then his hands would unfailingly go straight into his mouth. This made me cringe! I knew I was going to have to find a better and easier way to clean my floors more often, so I bought a Swiffer Wet Jet. This mop would also be an efficient way for me to clean the floor under the high chair, as my baby started to feed himself and 3 meals a day meant mopping under the high chair 3 times a day. All of the moms out there can relate to the beloved high chair years! In addition, we had a dog that left what seemed to be a perpetual trail of droplets starting from her water bowl to the other end of the kitchen, every time she took a drink. I certainly didn’t want my baby crawling all over that!
Don’t be a Slave to the Refills!
After the first week of owning my new spray mop system, I quickly went through the first and ONLY box of disposable refills I ever bought. I realized that the making constant repeat purchases of those disposable mop pads was going to be a never ending financial commitment. Also, the unnecessary trash that refills generated did not sit well with me at all. While doing the smallest amount of research, I also discovered the vast, shared hatred of these disposable refill pads among consumers nationwide! Suddenly the Swiffer was not fun anymore. I diligently hunted for a quality alternative mop pad that I could re-use instead of wasting money on extravagant refills. The more I searched the more I found other frustrated moms and pet owners looking for the same solution that just wasn’t available. But, I refused to be a slave to the refills.
